Module: CISCO-VOICE-AALX-PROFILE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VOICE-AALX-PROFILE-MIB::cvapCodecConfigJitterDelayMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.323.1.1.2.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CCallControlJitterDelayMode

Access: read-write

Description: The object specifies the jitter buffer mode applied to a call connection.

adaptive - means to use cvapCodecConfigNewJtrNomDelay as the initial jitter buffers size and let the DSP pick the optimal value of the jitter buffer size between the range of cvapCodecConfigJitterMaxDelay and cvapCodecConfigJitterMinDelay.

fixed - means to use a constant jitter buffer size which is specified by cvapCodecConfigNewJtrNomDelay.

What is cvapCodecConfigJitterDelayMode?

This read-write CCallControlJitterDelayMode selects whether a call's jitter buffer is adaptive (DSP dynamically picks a size between configured min and max delays, starting from the nominal delay) or fixed (held constant at the nominal delay for the whole call). An administrator chooses fixed mode for predictable, stable network paths and adaptive mode where jitter varies over the call's duration. For example, setting this to adaptive(1) lets the DSP shrink or grow the jitter buffer in real time as network conditions change.
