Module: CISCO-VMPS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VMPS-MIB::vmpsSecureMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.53.1.1.1.1.7

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: If in secure mode the VMPS will instruct the requesting device to shutdown a port as a result of a match failure.

What is vmpsSecureMode?

This read-create INTEGER (secure or open) controls whether the VMPS instructs a requesting switch to shut down a port when a VLAN membership match fails. An administrator enables secure mode to enforce stricter access control, automatically disabling ports for devices that don't match an authorized VLAN mapping. For example, in secure(1) mode a rogue device plugged into an access port would have that port shut down rather than merely denied.
