Module: CISCO-USP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-USP-MIB::cuspNotifSeverity

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.827.1.3.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: accessible-for-notify

Description: The classification on the event severity. 'error' - Significant problem. 'warning' - Not immediately significant. 'informational' - Information only.

What is cuspNotifSeverity?

This INTEGER, carried in notifications, classifies an event as error, warning, or informational. Because it is accessible-for-notify rather than polled, it arrives embedded in a trap so an admin's monitoring system can triage incoming USP alerts by urgency without having to poll the device. An event tagged error(1) for 'significant problem' should page someone immediately, while informational(3) events can simply be logged for later review.
