Description: Two digit hex device address for the device the SNA host will use to communicate with the offload task on the CMCC. The address must be even.

What is cipCardOffloadConfigDevice?

Holds the two-digit hex device address the SNA host uses to communicate with the offload task running on the Cisco Mainframe Channel Connection (CMCC) card, and that address must be even. The even-address requirement reflects a real IBM channel-subsystem convention of paired even/odd device addresses, so setting an odd value here isn't merely unconventional — the host's channel definitions expect the offload device at an even address, and an odd one will fail to match during channel initialization. If the mainframe's IOCDS defines the CLAW device at hex address 20, cipCardOffloadConfigDevice would be set to 0x20 to match, not the adjacent odd address 0x21.
