Description: Control processing of broadcast frames for the path/device this instance of OFFLOAD is configured on. Enable turns broadcast processing on.
What is cipCardOffloadConfigBroadcastEnable?
Controls whether broadcast frames are processed for the specific path/device this OFFLOAD instance is configured on; enabling it turns broadcast processing on. Since this is scoped to one path/device rather than the whole card, an admin can allow broadcast handling on one mainframe channel connection while leaving it disabled on another sharing the same CMCC card, which matters if only some of the connected LPARs actually rely on broadcast, for example for broadcast-based address resolution over the channel. If one LPAR's networking stack relies on broadcast-based address resolution over the channel connection but another LPAR's doesn't, an admin would set cipCardOffloadConfigBroadcastEnable to true only for the path serving the first LPAR.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.31.1.1.1.1.10 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-TCPOFFLOAD-MIB::cipCardOffloadConfigBroadcastEnable
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.31.1.1.1.1.10.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-TCPOFFLOAD-MIB::cipCardOffloadConfigBroadcastEnable.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.31.1.1.1.1.10.1 s <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cipCardOffloadConfigBroadcastEnable.1
