This object reports the identifier of this initiator port in whatever format is appropriate for its transport type, similar in spirit to ciscoScsiIntrPrtName but using the identifier construct rather than the name construct defined by the SCSI MIB conventions. An admin working with tooling that specifically expects the standardized identifier format (rather than a raw name string) uses this field to integrate with that tooling correctly. This distinction matters mainly to management software consuming the object programmatically rather than to a human glancing at a report.
