This counter tracks the cumulative megabytes written to this target port or device by all initiators combined. An admin doing capacity planning for a specific storage array uses this aggregate write-bandwidth figure to judge how close that target is to its designed throughput ceiling, distinct from the per-host figures tracked in the initiator-port table elsewhere in this MIB. A target showing write-megabyte growth accelerating sharply after several new hosts were provisioned against it would directly link the added load to those new workloads.
