This counter tracks how many times this authorized remote initiator has transitioned from unattached to attached to this local target device or port. An admin seeing this count climb unusually fast for one specific initiator, compared to others that attach once and stay connected, should suspect that host's HBA or path is flapping, repeatedly disconnecting and reattaching rather than maintaining a stable connection. A count of 200 attachments over a week for one server, versus 1 for every other server attached to the same target, would immediately flag which host has the connectivity problem.
