lesColocBusAtmAddrSpec

Module: CISCO-LES-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-LES-MIB::lesColocBusAtmAddrSpec

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.39.1.1.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: AtmLaneAddress

Access: read-write

Description: For those implementations who do not allow the separate creation/deletion of the LES and BUS this object allows the operator to specify the ATM address of the BUS at LES creation time. For implementations that allow separate process creation this object is optional. Otherwise this is the ATM address of the designated BUS. Note that setting this object will have the side effect of reinitializing the BUS and consequently dropping all clients connected to it. If this object is not specified at row creation time then the BUS will choose a value for itself and attempt to register with the switch with that value. If an address is specified which is not acceptable to the switch then the busOperStatus will remain inactive until an acceptable address is set.

What is lesColocBusAtmAddrSpec?

This object lets an operator specify the ATM address of the co-located Broadcast and Unknown Server (BUS) at LES creation time, for implementations that don't support creating/deleting the LES and BUS as separate processes; setting it also reinitializes the BUS and drops its clients. An admin cares because on such implementations this single field controls both LES and BUS addressing together, and changing it is just as disruptive as changing the LES address itself. For example, an admin standing up a new ELAN on a device that colocates LES and BUS would set both lesAtmAddrSpec and this object together during initial provisioning.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.39.1.1.1.1.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-LES-MIB::lesColocBusAtmAddrSpec

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.39.1.1.1.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-LES-MIB::lesColocBusAtmAddrSpec.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.39.1.1.1.1.8.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> lesColocBusAtmAddrSpec.1
