Module: CISCO-LECS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-LECS-MIB::lecsLastFailLec

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.38.1.1.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: AtmLaneAddress

Access: read-only

Description: The ATM address of the LE client whose last configuration request was rejected. This ATM address will be for the LE client who was delivered the last LE_CONFIGURE_RESPONSE that caused the lecsOutConfigFails object to increment. This value is taken directly from the LE_CONFIGURE_REQUEST and is not guarenteed to be correctly identify a LEC.

What is lecsLastFailLec?

This object holds the ATM address of whichever LE client's configuration request the LECS most recently rejected, the same event that increments the lecsOutConfigFails counter, though the MIB itself warns the value is taken directly from the client's own request and isn't verified. An admin cares because it's the fastest way to identify which specific ATM end-station is currently failing to join an ELAN, without needing to correlate counters against client-side logs. For example, right after lecsOutConfigFails increments, this object might show ATM address 47.0091.8100.0000.0000.0000.0000.0000.0000.0001.00, pointing at the misconfigured or spoofing LEC.
