lecsAtmAddrSpec

Module: CISCO-LECS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-LECS-MIB::lecsAtmAddrSpec

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.38.1.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: AtmLaneAddress

Access: read-write

Description: An ATM address specified by the network or local management that, with the ATM address mask, determines a portion of the ATM address that the LECS on the designated interface will use to accept configure requests on. If this object is omitted at row creation time then the LECS will try to determine an ATM address, through ILMI, on its own. When the LECS is configured to have one ATM address (one entry in this table), modifying this object will result in the LECS reinitializing and dropping all connections to it.

What is lecsAtmAddrSpec?

This object is the ATM address (with its accompanying mask) that network or local management assigns to the LECS on a given interface to determine which configure requests it accepts, and setting it triggers the LECS to try registering that address with the switch via ILMI. An admin cares because leaving it unspecified at row creation makes the LECS auto-discover its own ATM address through ILMI instead, so this field is the difference between a manually pinned LECS address and one negotiated automatically with the switch. For example, an admin who wants the LECS reachable at a specific well-known ATM address for a set of LE clients would set this explicitly rather than letting ILMI assign one.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.38.1.1.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-LECS-MIB::lecsAtmAddrSpec

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.38.1.1.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-LECS-MIB::lecsAtmAddrSpec.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.38.1.1.2.1.2.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> lecsAtmAddrSpec.1
