This preserves, in the history table, the type of the remote peer identity used by an expired Phase-1 tunnel, per its description - the historical record corresponding to the live cisgIpsSgTunRemoteType object. It gives an admin the identity type a now-disconnected peer had used to authenticate itself during that past connection, useful for post-incident review of exactly how that peer identified itself. This matters when auditing whether a former connection matched the identity-type policy expected for that peer relationship.
