Module: CISCO-BUS-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-BUS-MIB::busMaxFrm
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.40.1.1.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-create
Description: The maximum frame size that the emulated LAN may accept.
What is busMaxFrm?
This read-create object sets the maximum frame size the emulated LAN may accept, chosen from a small set of legacy-LAN-standard sizes: 802.3's 1516, Token Ring 4Mb's 4544, RFC 1626's 9234, or Token Ring 16Mb's 18190. Setting it smaller than what LEC clients actually send would cause oversized frames to be rejected across the whole emulated LAN, even though each client's individual physical connection could otherwise handle them fine. An ELAN configured with this left at the standard 802.3 value of 1516 would reject or fragment any client frame larger than 1516 bytes, even from a client capable of sending larger frames on its native interface.
