bcpConfigSpanTree
Module: CISCO-BCP-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-BCP-MIB::bcpConfigSpanTree
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.11
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: The desired spanning tree protocol of the local BCP entity. The listing values of the Spanning- Tree Protocol are specified in the most recent RFC1700.
This value is meaningful only when the local BCP entity has negotiated the Spanning-Tree-Protocol configuration option, which means the value of bcpConfigSpanTreeControl is enabled(1).
What is bcpConfigSpanTree?
This read-write object selects the desired spanning tree protocol of the local BCP entity, meaningful only when bcpConfigSpanTreeControl is enabled. It actually selects which spanning-tree variant, standard IEEE 802.1D, an extended variant, or IBM source-route bridging's own scheme, runs across the bridged link, and because the two half-bridges are bridging what looks like a single LAN segment to downstream devices, mismatched variants on each end can create loop-prevention blind spots a simple link-up test would never reveal. One half-bridge running standard 802.1D while its peer is set to null, no spanning tree participation, could leave a redundant bridged topology without functioning loop protection across that link.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.11 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-BCP-MIB::bcpConfigSpanTree
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.11.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-BCP-MIB::bcpConfigSpanTree.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.11.1 i <value>
