bcpConfigMacAddress

Module: CISCO-BCP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-BCP-MIB::bcpConfigMacAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: This value is meaningful only when the local BCP entity has negotiated the MAC-Address configuration option, which means the value of bcpConfigMacAddressControl is enabled(1).

If it is non-zero format, the local BCP get its MAC address announced. It is represented in IEEE 802.1 Canonical format.

If it is in zero format, i.e. 00-00-00-00-00-00 then the implementation of the system wishes to have a MAC address assigned.

What is bcpConfigMacAddress?

This read-write value holds the MAC address to be announced, meaningful only when bcpConfigMacAddressControl is enabled, represented in IEEE 802.1 canonical format. This value doesn't take effect at all unless bcpConfigMacAddressControl is also enabled, always represented in canonical bit order regardless of which physical MAC type the segment actually uses. Configuring this field with a specific address while leaving bcpConfigMacAddressControl disabled would have this setting silently ignored during BCP negotiation.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.9
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-BCP-MIB::bcpConfigMacAddress

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.9.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-BCP-MIB::bcpConfigMacAddress.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.275.1.2.1.9.1 s <value>
