Description: Specifies the GCRA limit parameter used for policing of a receive cell-stream of an ABR connection on an interface, if the limit parameter is not specified explicitly in the connection setup request. It is specified in cell-times. Note that a change to this value affects subsequent connection setup, not existing connections.

What is rmIfAbrDefaultRxUpcTolerance?

This read-write value specifies, in cell-times, the GCRA policing tolerance applied to the receive cell-stream of an ABR connection when the connection setup itself didn't specify a tolerance explicitly, and the description notes that changing it only affects future connection setups, not connections already established. Setting it too tight causes legitimate bursty ABR traffic to be tagged or dropped by policing even though the connection's true average rate is fine, while setting it too loose lets a misbehaving source through unpoliced. Raising this value from 50 to 200 cell-times before provisioning new ABR VCs would let a slightly bursty ABR source through without being falsely flagged as a UPC violation, though VCs already set up keep using the old default.
