cApsMapGroupName
Module: CISCO-APS-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-APS-MIB::cApsMapGroupName
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.71.1.3.2.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: SnmpAdminString
Access: read-only
Description: A textual name for the APS group which this channel is included in. If the channel is not part of an APS group this value is set to a string of size 0.
When an instance of cApsChanConfigIfIndex is set equal to an instance of cApsMapIfIndex, cApsMapGroupName is set equal to the corresponding value of cApsChanConfigGroupName.
If the cApsMapIfIndex ceases to be equal to an instance of cApsChanConfigIfIndex, either because of a change in the value of cApsChanConfigIfIndex, or because of row deletion in the CApsChanConfigTable, cApsMapGroupName is set to a string of size 0.
What is cApsMapGroupName?
This read-only field reports the textual name of the APS group that the interface identified by this row's ifIndex currently belongs to, returning an empty string if that particular interface isn't part of any APS group at all. This gives an admin a direct way to look up, starting from a plain interface (via standard ifTable browsing), whether that interface has APS protection configured and if so under which named group, without having to separately search the whole channel config table for a matching ifIndex. For example, an admin investigating a specific SONET interface reported as degraded in ifTable could check this object to immediately learn it belongs to APS group 'Ring2-Protect', pointing them toward that group's other status and config objects for further diagnosis.
