cApsCommandControl

Module: CISCO-APS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-APS-MIB::cApsCommandControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.71.1.5.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CApsControlCommand

Access: read-write

Description: Allows the initiation of an APS control command on the APS group and channel specified by the index values.

When read this object returns the last command written or noCmd if no command has been written to this channel since initialization.

This object does not apply to the protection line.

What is cApsCommandControl?

This write-triggered object lets an admin issue an APS control command (distinct from a switch command -- likely covering operations like lockout or clear rather than forcing traffic) for the group and channel identified by this row's indices, and notably this object does not apply to the protection line itself, only to working channels. Like cApsCommandSwitch, reading it back returns only the last command the admin wrote rather than any live status. For example, an admin wanting to lock out a specific working channel from ever being switched to protection (perhaps because its line card is being decommissioned) would write the appropriate lockout control command here for that channel's row, but couldn't apply the same control to the shared protection line via this object.
