ciIfMapFlow

Module: CIRCUIT-IF-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIRCUIT-IF-MIB::ciIfMapFlow

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.94.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CiFlowDirection

Access: read-only

Description: The value contains the value of ciCircuitFlow that corresponds to the current ifIndex.

What is ciIfMapFlow?

This reports the traffic flow direction (as defined by the CiFlowDirection type) associated with the circuit behind this ifIndex, mirroring the ciCircuitFlow value from the circuit table so it's visible directly from the interface-mapping perspective. Knowing the flow direction matters because circuits, unlike simple physical ports, can be provisioned as unidirectional or asymmetric, and an admin needs this to correctly interpret whether traffic counters on this ifIndex represent one direction of a larger bidirectional circuit or the whole thing. For example, if this shows a value indicating 'receive-only,' the admin knows ifInOctets on this ifIndex reflects real circuit traffic while ifOutOctets may be structurally near-zero by design, not due to a fault.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.94.1.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CIRCUIT-IF-MIB::ciIfMapFlow

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.94.1.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CIRCUIT-IF-MIB::ciIfMapFlow.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ciIfMapFlow.1
