Module: CIENA-CES-OSPF-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-OSPF-MIB::cienaCesOspfIfLsaCksumSum

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.19.1.2.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: The 32-bit unsigned sum of the link-state advertisements' LS checksums contained in this interface's link-local Link State Database. The sum can be used to determine if there has been a change in the interface's Link State Database, and to compare the interface Link State Database of routers attached to the same subnet.

What is cienaCesOspfIfLsaCksumSum?

This read-only Integer32 is the 32-bit unsigned sum of the LS checksums of the link-state advertisements in this interface's link-local Link State Database, per its description, explicitly intended to let an engineer detect a change in that interface's link-local database and compare it against the corresponding database on other routers attached to the same subnet. Because link-local LSAs are only flooded to routers on that specific link, this checksum sum is the natural per-link consistency check rather than an area-wide or domain-wide one. An engineer suspecting two routers on the same shared subnet have inconsistent link-local data would compare this checksum sum on the matching interface of each router.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.19.1.2.2.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CIENA-CES-OSPF-MIB::cienaCesOspfIfLsaCksumSum

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.19.1.2.2.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CIENA-CES-OSPF-MIB::cienaCesOspfIfLsaCksumSum.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cienaCesOspfIfLsaCksumSum.1
