osMajorVer

Module: CHECKPOINT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CHECKPOINT-MIB::osMajorVer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2620.1.6.5.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: OS Major version

What is osMajorVer?

This INTEGER is the major version number of the underlying OS, per 'OS Major version.' It's used together with osName to determine OS-level support status and which security patches are even available, since Check Point (and the underlying OS vendor) eventually stops releasing updates for older major versions. A gateway on an OS major version past its documented end-of-support date would be flagged in a security audit purely from this field.
