Because AH only adds an authentication header rather than encrypting payload, this byte count grows in lockstep with the packet count in cpvHwAccelAhEncPkts, so a widening ratio between the two can reveal unusually large or fragmented packets on that AH tunnel. A sudden jump in bytes without a matching jump in packet count would flag jumbo frames or fragmented traffic riding the AH tunnel.
