Module: CHECKPOINT-MIB-2

OID (symbolic): CHECKPOINT-MIB-2::egpNeighInErrs

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.8.5.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The number of EGP messages received from this EGP peer that proved to be in error (e.g., bad EGP checksum).

What is egpNeighInErrs?

Counts EGP messages received from this peer that proved to be in error, for example a bad EGP checksum. A rising value here isolated to one neighbor, rather than global egpInErrors, would point at a problem specific to that peer's link or implementation rather than a systemic issue. Example: egpNeighInErrs climbing for only one of several configured legacy peers suggests a link-quality or implementation issue unique to that peer.
