egpInErrors

Module: CHECKPOINT-MIB-2

OID (symbolic): CHECKPOINT-MIB-2::egpInErrors

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.8.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The number of EGP messages received that proved to be in error.

What is egpInErrors?

Counts EGP messages received that proved to be in error. As with egpInMsgs, any activity at all here on a gateway not running EGP peering is inherently anomalous and worth a closer look rather than a normal operational metric to trend over time. Example: seeing this counter move at all, absent any configured EGP peer, would prompt checking for stray or malformed traffic on that path rather than treating it as routine.
