atiQosMode

Module: CENTRECOM-QOS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CENTRECOM-QOS-MIB::atiQosMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.5.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates which QoS mode the device should use. ingress(1) applies priority-based QoS based on the incoming packet's destination IP or MAC address, 802.1p priority, PACE(tm), Source Port or VLAN. egress(2) applies priority- and bandwidth-based QoS based on destination IP or MAC address or VLAN.

What is atiQosMode?

This selects the switch's overall QoS mode: ingress (1) applies priority-only QoS based on incoming packets' destination IP or MAC address, 802.1p priority tag, PACE, source port, or VLAN, while egress (2) applies combined priority-and-bandwidth QoS based on destination IP or MAC address or VLAN specifically at the outbound side. An admin picks egress mode when actual bandwidth shaping (not just priority ordering) is needed on outbound traffic, since ingress mode only reorders priority without enforcing bandwidth limits. For example, a switch needing to cap a particular VLAN's outbound bandwidth to protect other traffic would need egress mode, since ingress mode alone has no bandwidth-limiting capability.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CENTRECOM-QOS-MIB::atiQosMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.5.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CENTRECOM-QOS-MIB::atiQosMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.207.8.12.2.5.1.4.1 i <value>
