sysEvtLogTftpsaveFileName

Module: CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB

OID (symbolic): CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB::sysEvtLogTftpsaveFileName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.930.2.1.5.8.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: This octet string indicates the file name for the Tftpsave option of event log function. The filename will be appended with an extension nnn, where nnn ranges from 000 to 999, as each TFTP file transfer occurs. The filename is default to the last three bytes of MAC address of the switch in hexadecimal format.

What is sysEvtLogTftpsaveFileName?

This sets the base filename, up to 255 characters, used when the switch periodically transfers its event log buffer to the configured TFTP server, with the switch automatically appending a three-digit sequence number (000-999) to each successive transfer, and defaulting to the switch's own MAC address's last three bytes if left unset. An admin can set a custom filename here to make archived log files easier to identify across multiple switches feeding the same TFTP server, rather than relying on the default MAC-based naming. For example, naming this 'closet3-evt' would produce files like closet3-evt.000, closet3-evt.001, and so on, clearly distinguishing this switch's log archives from other switches on the same TFTP server.
