sysEvtLogSysLogHostIp

Module: CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB

OID (symbolic): CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB::sysEvtLogSysLogHostIp

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.930.2.1.5.7.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: IpAddress

Access: read-write

Description: The IP address of Unix system that runs Syslogd. The event messages are redirect to Syslogd only when this IP address is valid and the bit value of Syslogd of sysEvtLogDestMap is enabled. Note: Set an invalid IP address results a BADVALUE return.

What is sysEvtLogSysLogHostIp?

This sets the IP address of the Unix system running Syslogd that the switch should forward event log messages to, and event forwarding to Syslogd only actually happens once this address is valid and the Syslogd bit in sysEvtLogDestMap is enabled; setting an invalid address returns a BADVALUE error. An admin must configure this address before the Syslogd bit in the destination map will actually take effect, making this a prerequisite step rather than an independent setting. For example, setting this to a valid syslog server address but forgetting to also enable the Syslogd bit in sysEvtLogDestMap would leave the switch still not forwarding any events, despite the host being correctly configured.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB::sysEvtLogSysLogHostIp

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.930.2.1.5.7.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB::sysEvtLogSysLogHostIp.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.930.2.1.5.7.1.1 a <value>
