sysEvtLogPortPreFilterControl
Module: CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB
OID (symbolic): CENTILLION-SYSTEM-EVENT-LOG-MIB::sysEvtLogPortPreFilterControl
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.930.2.1.5.5.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This value indicates the pre-filter setting for the specified port. Note: A module must be properly configured before any port of the module can be set with a value of sysEvtLogPortPreFilterControl. A BADVALUE is returned when one enables a port in a disabled slot.
What is sysEvtLogPortPreFilterControl?
This read-write object enables or disables event logging pre-filtering for the specific port identified in this table row, but only takes effect if the module in that slot is already properly configured, since setting this on a port within a disabled slot returns a BADVALUE error. An admin uses this for the finest-grained log-noise control available in this MIB, silencing just one flapping or noisy port rather than its whole card or the whole logging subsystem. For example, an admin trying to suppress logging for a single flapping port would get a BADVALUE error if that port's slot itself is administratively disabled, meaning the slot has to be enabled first before this per-port setting can be applied.
