serialIfRxOverruns

Module: BIANCA-BRICK-SERIAL-MIB

OID (symbolic): BIANCA-BRICK-SERIAL-MIB::serialIfRxOverruns

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.272.4.25.1.1.26

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: Count of receiver overruns. If the serial port is unable to grant sufficiently soon/often the bus, the RxFIFO may fill up. This leads to loss of data.

What is serialIfRxOverruns?

Counts times the receive FIFO filled up faster than the serial port could service it, causing data loss—a rising count suggests the system is too busy to keep up with incoming serial traffic.
