Module: BEA-WEBLOGIC-MIB

OID (symbolic): BEA-WEBLOGIC-MIB::serverExternalDNSName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.140.625.730.1.343

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: The external IP address or DNS name for this server. This address will be sent with HTTP session cookies and with dynamic server lists to HTTP proxies. It will also be used by external application clients to enable the propagation of RMI traffic through network address translating (NAT) firewalls. You must specify an external DNS name for configurations in which a firewall is performing network address translation, unless clients are accessing WebLogic Server using t3 and the default channel. For example, define the external DNS name for configurations in which a firewall is performing network address translation, and clients are accessing WebLogic Server using HTTP via a proxy plug-in.

What is serverExternalDNSName?

This OID records the external IP address or DNS name used for cluster failover and HTTP session cookies when crossing firewalls. Example: weblogic.example.com tells clients to use that DNS name if they need to failover.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> BEA-WEBLOGIC-MIB::serverExternalDNSName

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.140.625.730.1.343.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> BEA-WEBLOGIC-MIB::serverExternalDNSName.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> serverExternalDNSName.1
