Description: The way multicasts should forwarded on this interface; not forwarded, forwarded as data link multicasts, or forwarded as data link uni- casts. Data link multicasting is not meaning- ful on point to point and NBMA interfaces, and setting ospfMulticastForwarding to 0 effective- ly disables all multicast forwarding.
What is basOspfIfMulticastForwarding?
This read-create setting controls how the router forwards multicast traffic out this interface: 'blocked' disables multicast forwarding, 'multicast' forwards using data-link multicast addressing, and 'unicast' forwards a separate unicast copy to each OSPF neighbor. It defaults to blocked, and data-link multicasting isn't meaningful on point-to-point or NBMA interfaces anyway.
