Description: The 32-bit unsigned sum of the LS checksums of the external link-state advertisements con- tained in the link-state database. This sum can be used to determine if there has been a change in a router's link state database, and to compare the link-state database of two routers.
What is basOspfExternLsaCksumSum?
This read-only value is the 32-bit unsigned sum of the checksums of all external link-state advertisements in the database. Comparing this sum between two routers, or watching it change over time on one router, is a cheap way to detect whether the external LSA set has changed without downloading the whole database.
