apsConfigSfBerThreshold

Module: APS-MIB

OID (symbolic): APS-MIB::apsConfigSfBerThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.49.1.1.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-create

Description: The Signal Failure Bit Error Rate.

The negated value of this number is used as the exponent of 10 for computing the threshold value for the Bit Error Rate (BER). For example, a value of 5 indicates a BER threshold of 10^-5.

This object may be modified if the associated apsConfigRowStatus object is equal to active(1).

What is apsConfigSfBerThreshold?

Sets the Signal Failure bit error rate threshold as a negative power of 10, above which the signal is declared a failure and triggers an APS protection switch. This threshold is typically set higher (worse BER) than the Signal Degrade threshold to indicate a more severe fault condition.
