This counter reports the number of IEEE 802.3 Ethernet pause frames transmitted during the current 15-minute period as an integer. Pause frames are flow control signals; elevated pause frame counts indicate congestion events where the sender was throttled to prevent buffer overflow. A value of 1200 pause frames in 15 minutes suggests the receiver requested flow control roughly every 0.75 seconds.
