Switch to Partner Controller started

What is transientProtSwToDuplexStart?

This is a trap (notification) sent by an ADVA FSP R7 optical transport device when a switchover to the partner controller is initiated. The notification indicates a failover event in a high-availability system. An operator receives this trap to immediately know that a controller redundancy event has begun and can take corrective action if needed.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::transientProtSwToDuplexStart
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.273

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
