Switch started

What is transientFwpSwitchStarted?

This SNMP notification (trap) is generated when a firmware switch operation on an optical networking device has completed successfully and the system is operational. The 'started' indicates the new firmware is running, not that the switch operation is initiating. Network operators receive this trap to confirm that a firmware upgrade or failover to a backup image has completed and the device is ready for normal operation.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::transientFwpSwitchStarted
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.428

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
