Description:
Relevant only when ERRFWD=LSROFF. Enables/disables the possibility to delay turning off and on the laser. This applies to the case when turning off the laser is done as an error forwarding mechanism.
What is physicalPortLaserDelayTimer?
This setting enables or disables a configurable delay between when a laser on an optical port is turned off and back on as part of the device's error recovery (ERRFWD=LSROFF) mechanism. Delaying laser power cycling allows transient errors to clear on the remote end before the link comes back up. A transport network operator would enable this for unreliable long-distance links to prevent rapid link flapping that could cascade faults.
