This object is a read-create boolean or enumeration controlling whether Trace Identifier Mismatch (TIM) detection is active at the SONET section overhead level. Network operators enable this to detect SONET section overhead trace identifier mismatches, which indicate incorrect signal mapping or pathing. For example, enabled (1) activates TIM-OLA (OTU Level A equivalent in SONET) detection on section overhead.
