Sec/RS signal degrade alarm; related to a configurable threshold

What is alarmSignalDegradeScn?

This OID is an alert that fires when the optical signal quality drops below a configured threshold on a secondary or RS (regenerator section) level. It warns that the connection is degrading but not yet completely down. An optical network technician would receive this to take corrective action—like cleaning connectors or adjusting power levels—before signal failure occurs.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmSignalDegradeScn
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.251

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
