Description:
PRBS Receive Activated
What is alarmPrbsRcvActivated?
This is an event notification triggered when a PRBS (Pseudo-Random Bit Sequence) receiver is activated on an optical circuit. PRBS testing injects known bit patterns to measure error rates and signal quality. Optical technicians use this trap to log when testing equipment is activated on fiber links.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmPrbsRcvActivated snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.232
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
