Optical Supervisory Channel Input Power current low threshold crossed

What is alarmOscPwrTooLow?

This alarm notification fires when the optical power on the Optical Supervisory Channel (OSC) input falls below a configured low threshold, indicating degraded optical signal strength. The alarm helps detect fiber cuts, connector issues, or component failures affecting the supervisory channel. Network operators monitor this to maintain minimum signal quality and prevent complete channel loss.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmOscPwrTooLow
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.343

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
