What is alarmMansw?

This notification indicates that a Manual Switch (MANSW) has actively switched traffic from the working optical entity to the protection entity on ADVA FSP equipment. It occurs only on the working entity and signals that network protection is now active. Operators receive this alarm during planned maintenance or failover events to confirm protective switching is operating.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmMansw
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.194

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
