Description:
Loss of Pilot Signal
What is alarmLossOfPilotSignal?
This notification is generated when an optical equipment system loses its pilot signal, which is a control signal used to synchronize and coordinate optical channels. Network operators monitor this alarm to detect synchronization failures that could disrupt optical transport. The alarm indicates that the equipment's timing reference or control coordination has failed.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmLossOfPilotSignal snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.225
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
