Module: ADVA-FSPR7-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmHwDegrade

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.140

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

HW operation is degraded by a HW fault, but traffic is unaffected.

What is alarmHwDegrade?

This OID is a notification (alert) that fires when hardware detects an internal fault but traffic is still flowing normally. It warns operators of potential future failure before the device actually stops working. A monitoring system sends an alert when this notification is triggered so staff can plan maintenance.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmHwDegrade
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.140

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:59488->[192.168.30.10]:162]:

  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmHwDegrade
