Fiber connection transmit optical power failure.
What is alarmFiberConnOptFault?
This is a notification (trap) that fires when ADVA optical transmission equipment detects a fiber connection transmit power failure. It indicates the transmitter on a fiber link is not producing adequate optical signal strength. Network operators receive this alert to immediately diagnose and repair fiber issues before service degradation occurs.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmFiberConnOptFault snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.49
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
