What is alarmDispersionCompensationTooLow?

This notification (alert) triggers when an optical signal is not compensating enough for fiber signal distortion. Receiving this alert means signal quality is degrading due to insufficient compensation. An operator responds by checking the fiber link and adjusting compensation settings to restore signal integrity.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmDispersionCompensationTooLow
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.297

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
