What is alarmChromaticDispersionTooHigh?
This OID triggers a notification (alert) when the optical signal's chromatic dispersion exceeds acceptable limits. Chromatic dispersion is a measure of signal degradation over fiber distance; high levels mean the light pulses spread too much. An operator would receive this alert when monitoring long-distance fiber links to know that dispersion-compensating equipment needs adjustment or the fiber needs replacement.
