Auto Shutdown (ALS)
What is alarmAutoShutdownAls?
This SNMP notification alarm is triggered when the FSP R7 optical transport equipment detects an Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS) condition, which protects the laser from damage. The alarm indicates the laser has been automatically disabled due to a detected fault. Operators receive this alert to investigate the underlying optical or equipment issue causing the laser shutdown.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmAutoShutdownAls snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.163
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
