Description:

Amplifier Auto Shutdown

What is alarmAutoAmpShutdown?

This is a notification trap that fires when an optical amplifier automatically shuts down, typically due to safety or performance reasons. An operator would receive this alarm to immediately investigate amplifier health and determine whether manual intervention is needed to restore optical signal transmission.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ADVA-FSPR7-MIB::alarmAutoAmpShutdown
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.11.7.5.0.164

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
