Module: ADSL-DMT-LINE-MIB
OID (symbolic): ADSL-DMT-LINE-MIB::adslAturDmtConfFreqBins
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.94.1.1.16.2.1.15.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-create
Description: A string of 256 bits to enable/disable the incoming DMT frequency bins that the ATU-R receiver should monitor after the next activation. The mechanism to pass adslAturDMTConfFreqBins to the ATU-R is vendor specific. Each bit controls one bin with the first bit of the first octet controlling sub-carrier zero (lowest frequency bin). A bit set to 1 disables reception of the specified sub-carrier frequency bin end a 0 enables reception.
What is adslAturDmtConfFreqBins?
This configuration setting uses a 256-bit string to enable or disable which frequency sub-carriers the remote modem should listen to after the next line activation, with each bit corresponding to one frequency bin. Network engineers adjust this to work around interference from power lines or other devices using nearby frequency ranges. For example, setting bits 10-15 to 1 would disable those six frequency bins so the remote modem avoids receiving on those noisy channels.
